Description

On August 30, 1888, guide Henry Tremblay and “sport” Charles Bullen Dunn stood in front of a logging camp located at the upper falls of present day Socatean Stream, a tributary of Moosehead Lake whose headwaters originate in Socatean Pond, about ten miles northeast of Moosehead Lake. It was not uncommon for John Dunn and his hunting parties to travel for many miles by either horse or canoe to reach an area rich in fish and game.
